With Final Fantasy XIII scheduled for a 2010 release, you can't help but wonder what's taking so long. Yet, on top of all the anticipation for the thirteenth in the series, Square Enix announced today that
Final Fantasy XIV is the next in their long line of projects.
Final Fantasy XIV will be the next Square Enix
MMORPG and is (will be?) exclusive to the PlayStation 3. Square's most successful
MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI, is still going seven years on, but what does the arrival of a new
MMORPG have in store for the world of Vana'diel?
Probably not much. Because of Final Fantasy XIV's exlusiveness to the PS3, it won't be as widely available as Final Fantasy XI is (Eleven is currently available globally on PS2, XBox 360 and PC). Besides... What about Rapture? Or will Final Fantasy XIV be Rapture? We'll find out in due time, Final Fantasy Ultima will provide the latest gossip when we find it!
