The second day press conference of E3 2009, the first of which seeing the Announcement of Final Fantasy XIV, is about to get underway. So far the only new information is that they have confirmed the project will be released on PC. It was previously believed, due to the first Sony Conference, that Final Fantasy XIV would be PlayStation 3 exclusive.

In this press conference what can we expect? Many people will have varying questions; some of the hottest will be Final Fantasy XIV's relations to Final Fantasy XI (spurred on by the Final Fantasy XIV Collage as you can clearly make out what looks like Mithra, Galka, Hume, Elvaan and Tarutaru figures), whether Final Fantasy XIV is the fabled 'Rapture' and whether or not this is the only game that will be released. You just have to look back to a few years ago when Final Fantasy XIII was announced. They announced three games at once.

Granted, the maintenance and development for an online game are naturally much higher, due to the constantly updating gaming environment. Chances are Final Fantasy XIV will be the only one of its kind. We'll post the updates when the conference is over.
