Soundtrack

The development team revealed that Nobuo Uematsu, beloved composer of more or less all of the Final Fantasy games, will be composing the music for Final Fantasy 14. He will be composing a range of styles and genres for the soundtrack.

Unless you've been living under a rock for a couple of decades, you'll recognise his name as the composer of every Final Fantasy game prior to Final Fantasy XI. His music is reknowned for it's incredible depth and originality, winning multiple awards and becoming a global phenomenon.

Uematsu only composed a few tracks for the Final Fantasy XI soundtrack (most noteably The Awakening, the widely respected Shadow Lord and Dynamis Xarcabard music), which left many fans disappointed. He's set to make a return to Square Enix's payroll as the composer of Final Fantasy XIV's soundtrack. For fans, this is exceptional news as it means the game's very necessary ambient soundtrack will not fail to deliver to the expectations this game is creating.

He will be composing the entire Final Fantasy XIV soundtrack.
