Player Versus Player

The development team have often been criticised in Final Fantasy XI of not providing the players with enough oppurtunities to battle one another. Competition is a healthy thing to an MMORPG to encourage continued playing, but how exactly do they plan on working it into Final Fantasy XIV?

They're considering options of including PvP into Final Fantasy XIV, although they insist it will be similar to the way in which it operates in Final Fantasy XI. Whether or not this is a good thing remains to be seen. If the PvP system in fourteen is synonymous to the system of eleven, there probably won't be a competative one that players of eleven have been asking for.

As with eleven, their primary concern is the monopolisation of content. Rightly so (those who have sampled the 'end-game' of eleven will undoubtedly understand this), as the competative nature of gamers towards the higher brow of their playing careers provokes this, and PvP and Player Killing would serve as a catalyst.
