The news regarding how the levelling and jobs system will work is so far unfortunately limited. The only major revelation so far is that Final Fantasy 14 will not be using an experience based levelling system. This leaves plenty of room for creative thinking on exactly what system Square Enix plan on using.

The jobs system will be used in Final Fantasy XIV, although the exact context has been cited as "completely unique". This disbands the speculation as to whether they'll maintain the jobs system loved by so many from Final Fantasy XI.
