The Debut Final Fantasy XIV Trailer was a mixture of real-time gameplay and pre-rendered graphics. The combat scene in particular, featured at the end of the trailer, was using the in-game engine. When questioned, the development team revealed that they did go slightly overboard when trying to create the trailer for E3. Although they put a lot of effort into creating a breathtaking presentation, the trailer did feature plenty of game engine images. This implies that the graphics for Final Fantasy 14 should be stunning throughout.

Their plan is to utilise the latest technology at the time of the Final Fantasy 14 Beta, which may or may not be the best graphics available around the beginning of 2010.

The development team have sinced made it clear that they will definitely be focusing on making this game more visually stunning than Final Fantasy XI. Back to List
